La Institución  Educativa Rural María auxiliadora de cuestecita se encuentra situado en el corregimiento de cuestecita  Municipio de Albania Departamento de la Guajira específicamente en el Barrio Villa Reina,

Fue fundado en el año de 1959 en el gobierno del Presidente Rojas Pinilla, en esa época por la necesidad de la comunidad se creó una alternativa para la educación de los residentes de Cuestecita construyendo un aula para albergar estudiantes de primero  (1º) al grado quinto (5º), sus primeros docentes fueron nombrados por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional ya que en ese entonces el colegio era Nacional, sus primeros docentes fueron: Gaziantep bayan escort

Hasta el año 1988 la Directora fue la  señora Valentina Arregocés quien falleció, luego nombraron a la directora Delis Plata Silva natural de Sanjuán del Cesar, en la administración del Doctor Jairo Guerra se construyeron 2 aulas más, en ese entonces se encontraba la escuela en el centro de Cuestecita, así poco a poco se fue creciendo la comunidad de Cuestecita donde habían tantos estudiantes que tocaba atender 2 grado  en un solo salón de clases, el patio era demasiado pequeño que los niños no tenían donde hacer el recreo.
